SONO Sleep Study

Insomnia is a widely prevalent disorder associated with impaired occupational and mental health functioning, increased risk for cardiovascular disorders, and increased healthcare costs.

The SONO Sleep Study (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trazodone Effects on Sleep and Blood Pressure in Insomnia Phenotypes Based on Objective Sleep Duration: A Sequential Cohort/Randomized Controlled Trial) aims to:

  • Determine the effect of insomnia phenotype on insomnia remission, symptom severity and sleep efficiency after Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I).
  • Examine the efficacy of trazodone vs. placebo on insomnia remission and secondary outcomes among individuals who do not remit with CBT-I.
